Drive by wire

Pedal connection

Dual sensor pedal

This is the most widespread pedal type.

The pedal contains two independent position sensors.

  • Sensor 1 - TPS input
  • Sensor 2 - AN input without pullup. Input mode: 2nd pedal position sensor

Sensor 1 should send low voltage when the pedal is released.

Single sensor pedal

The pedal contains one position sensor and idle switch. Switch enagages near the 0% position.

  • Sensor 1 - TPS input
  • Sensor 2 - Button input. Input mode: TPS Idle switch

Throttle body connection

The throttle unit contains two position sensors and motor.

Motor connection

Motor is connected to the M1, M2 wires. Polarity is detected automatically during throttle calibration process.

M1, M2 wires holds up to 7A current. Choose appropriate wire size.

Motor wires can interfere with crankshaft, camshaft, knock sensors. Separate power and signal wires.

Position sensors connection

Option 1

First sensor is straight, second - inverted. European manufacturers.

Connection:

  • S1 - straight sensor (position increases - voltage increases)
  • S2 - inverted sensor (position increases - voltage decreases)

Option 2

First sensor works in full range. Second sensor works from 0 to 60%. Japanese manufacturers.

Connection:

  • S1 - full-range sensor
  • S2 - limited sensor (from 0 to 60%)
