Drive by wire
The DBW module is made on a separate processor that only deals with throttle control. If an error is detected, the electronic throttle module will disable the throttle.
Settings
Throttle max limit
Limits the maximum throttle position
Throttle min limit
Limits minimum throttle position
RPM limit
Limits throttle opening near the RPM limit. The heading of the table shows the RPM relative to the RPM limit. 0 is the RPM limit.
Idle controller range
Sets the throttle open percentage, which corresponds to 100% of the Idle controller position. If set to 0, the idle speed controller is disconnected from the throttle and a separate IAC can be connected.
Non-linearity
Sets the non-linearity of the throttle response. The higher the number, the smoother the throttle response at low openings.
Speed
Sets the reaction speed of the throttle.
Second pedal sensor
Sets the calibration of the second pedal sensor. Select analog sensor input in input settings
For calibration:
- Release the pedal. Set the 0% voltage
- Press the pedal all the way down. Set the 100% voltage
Values may change slightly after saving due to internal rounding of numbers.
Calibration
Opens the DBW driver configuration window
Adaptation
Starts the throttle adaptation procedure. The adaptation measures the range of movement of the throttle, as well as the force of the return springs, adjusting the algorithm for a specific throttle.
Damper
Designed to smoothly close the damper in the near-zero range. When the throttle closes below the threshold, the speed of the throttle movement is reduced.
PID
Adjusts the throttle controller PID
Status indicators
Communication OK
Communication with throttle control module is established
Configuration OK
Throttle is configured correctly
Calibration error
Throttle start position is out of calibration. When this error is detected, the throttle is disabled.
Causes: Incorrect calibration or throttle plate stuck.
Throttle sensor errors
Intermittent false readings from the throttle position sensors. Check the wiring and connectors as well as the signal from the sensors with an oscilloscope.
Throttle sensor failure
Critical errors in the readings of the throttle position sensors. When this error is detected, the throttle is disabled. Check the wiring and connectors as well as the signal from the sensors with an oscilloscope.
Positioning error
The throttle cannot set the target position. When this error is detected, the throttle is disabled. Causes: Incorrect calibration or throttle plate stuck.
Power driver failure
The throttle motor power IC detected an error and shut down. When this error is detected, the throttle is disabled. Check wiring and connectors. Look for a short circuit.
