Idle ignition advance

The table defines advance when idling

In most engines, idle advance is about 10-15 degrees.

At RPM below idle, advance should be raised. This provides additional torque when the rpm drops below normal.

At 2000..2500 RPM, advance must be raised to 20-30 deg in order to avoid pops in the exhaust pipe when the pedal is released. If advance, on the contrary, is lowered to -10..-15 degrees, then there will be pops in the muffler when the pedal is released.

Dwell time

The table defines the charging time of the ignition coils, depending on the voltage. The required dwell time depends on the coil type.

The current dwell time can be seen in the Dwell window

Dwell time by RPM

The table allows to adjust dwell time by RPM range. At high rpm, dwell time must be reduced to prevent coils overheating.
