Just a tad bit stupid question, if ignition map switches to idle on higher rpms, how can it function properly in terms of firing time, cuz idle should be around 16° for my engine, so let's say I close my throttle at around 5k rpm, so that means it will switch to idle map and fire at around 16°? That wouldn't be healthy if let's say I keep my afr at around 13.5 on overrun (for some pops and bangs) so how can ECU function properly under those conditions, or will the ECU just swich off spark or injectors anyway, even if I have set it up so my afr should be a little bit rich, or that idle map is right up to redline and not around idle 600-1500 range, if it's the first option, I get it, if second, I don't really get it

On closed throttle the engine is not producing power, so no impact on its health.
Pops and bangs are better with retarded ignition.
Fuel will be cut anyway.
You can adjust idle ignition map as you like.

so im guessing this is idle map, as we can see it will only go up to 2500 rpm, is there any way to increase it or its hard coded to 2500 rpm, if yes then how will ecu give ign angle above 2500rpm or will it just give that value what's at 2500 rpm? and is there any way to keep injectors firing when rpms are high and throttle closed (idle on) like telling ecu to keep the mixture rich, that should keep the injectors firing, right?

The ECU will use the 2500 value for 2500 RPM and higher.
You can set a fuel cut delay on the Idle tab

To see actual values, you have to load your calibrations from the ECU

So I'm guessing this is it, so cut off delay is fuel cut delay if im correct, what about that slider, is it where it cuts fuel? if yes, what if rpm is higher than 2500? will it still do the same cut off delay i would put in? Or will it switch to main map or something? I'd guess it just uses that delay all the way to redline, same as ign idle map

Why do you want to keep injection when it's not needed?

Well, jetronic ECU is not intended for such purposes. We have EMS2 for that.

Sorry to ask a dumb question but just so I understand how it’s controlling timing is using a combination of idle /run/ full throttle switches and the emulation wire to the air metering connector.

Is the emulation wire doing the majic by providing feedback through the emulation wire into the stock ecu ?

The emulation wire is mimicking the airflow sensor signal for the stock ECU .

JHM I believe I understand how things work now. “IF” you choose to have ignition control, you can simply move the emul wire from the air metering connection over to the ignitor and then at that point the factory ECU has no input on what the engine is doing.

hey, got a small question, can i switch from dizzy to coil pack using 60-2 crank sensor, i plan on using this coil pack 032 905 106B, is it possible for ecu to work with it even? it will need 2 ign wires, one for 2 cylinders and other for other 2 cylinders, so how could i connect it, and how would i connect that 60-2 crank sensor, will i just use emul wire to connect it to signal pin on that sensor and change rpm thingy

The ECU can't work with 60-2 trigger, and you don't need it.
We have plans for a software update, which will allow using this coil pack with the existing hall signal.

Hello,

Im doing a fresh install and just curious what I might be missing,,, this was a running cis car before the install.

I have a 3 wire control module “ignitor”and coil, i have the control wire connected to the emulator wire and have the software configured to control ignition.

I can crank and see RPM however no spark. Please see the below videos to see if I am missing something

I am seeing a pulsed signal going to the ignitor,,,,however I do not see any pulsing ground going from the ignitor to the coil…so im guessing I possibly have an incompatible ignitor?????

First, pull out the spark plug and check the spark presence visually.
Second - check the voltage on the spark amplifier control wire with the ECU disconnected.

Spark plug pulled and no spark, also tested with timing light.

When you say check voltage with the ecu disconnected, do you mean unplug the invent ecu and check the emul pin on the connector with ignition turned to on?
