Questions about ignition control feature for VW/Audi

Hello, I have a understanding problem: 1.)The abbreviation EMUL means? 2.) Which functions are not possible if I have no EMUL? Because KA-Jetronic has not the Connector 2 from the installation guide... 3.) Can I find the signal anywhere else. I like to run a 2E block with rigid series ignition distributor and JH cylinderhead. The basic engine was a JH with KA-Jetronic (KA has underpressure ignition advance in the distributor). Tom 1 - airflow sensor EMULator 2 - Audi/VW KE-Jet ignition control unit require airflow sensor signal for operation If you have vacuum ignition advance - you don't need EMUL signal If you want to use non-vacuum distributor - you have to use either stock ignition ECU, or Invent ignition control

Okay, I like to run the 2,0L "2E" block with it's non-vacuum ignition distributor BUT due to regulations in germany it should look like "JH" engine which has no potentiometer for MAF. What I don't understand: If you disassemble the plate from MAF and fix it with plastic strap how will you get a signal on EMUL wire? I don't like to run the ignition by the stock ECU. Is there any way to use your Jetronic?

EMUL signal is generated by the Jetronic ECU for stock ignition ECU (if you have any) Our Jetronic ECU don't need MAF housing at all. You can run ignition from Jetronic ECU too.

Thx, I think (hope) I got it. The EMUL signal is only needed in KE-Jetronic to have some proper values in the stock ECU. Right?! Okay that sounds good! If I'm wrong again give me a hint!

Hi, yesterday I sarted my new engine with jetronic. base informations: 2.0Liter 8V 11,5:1 camshaft 272 -distributor static basemap from you for Audi/VW 8V Engine started well was running at 2000rpm. But I only had for 2min a bluetooth connection... I didn't saw the ignition map! I need the ignition map - what do i have to to do? Greetings Thomas

Thanks. I installed a Idle switch. But I don't unverstand how I should connect it. How can it work with one wire? Same question for full load and temperatur. I understand it at hall signal from distributor because where we have 12V and ground and use with output Signal. Can you help me and explain?

Know the coolant temperatursensor is working AND if i push down acceleration pedal the Idle switch goes from "green" to "no" color BUT it is still not running according ignition map.

What do I have to do?

It Is running according to ignition map plus corrections. You don't have to do anything with it.

But only 10 degree advance are not ok.
I need much more advance ignition at highwr rpm.

Is the stock distributor a limitation?

I put several marks on belt disc and I use a ignition timing light to counter check?

What do you mean wirh "corrections"?

I suppose that you went through installation manual, and idle/fulload switch tests are passed.

I think it can not work according ignition map because I have no output signal from invent-ecu to the components of the stock ignition system:

I described at the beginning that the KA-Jetronic has not the connector where you connect the EMUL wire.

You answered that it will work without EMUL wire according ignition map.

Is where any way to connect the Emul wire?

In TSZ-H system, ignition advance is controlled by the distributor, with diaphragm and counterweights.
