@SteinOnkel myself and lots of other people on here run these ECU's with zero issues. In terms of the lackuster support, keep in mind that not only is Invent a very small company, where your support is coming directly from the the guy that built the thing, but there is also a language barrier in the way, where nuanced language use may fall through the cracks.
Now on to the problem. You have a coil that you say sparks when you manually trigger it, and you have an oscilloscope.
Assuming that you have RPM signal, put the scope on the (disconnected from everything) EMUL line, and then see if you get pulses when cranking, since from your above statements, this is not clear.
Then, for the ignition, you need to set it up properly,

The drop-down box here is where you select active high or active low for the trigger, so you need to match this with the coil in use.
