I purchased an Invent Jetronic kit last Summer and am finally getting around to the project car installation.
The project car is a 1978 SAAB 99 with a mechanical BOSCH CI system.
I have a few questions about the signals needed for the kit.
DH Signal
- The SAAB has a Breakerless ignition system that controls the coil with an induction pulse generator, as diagramed below (TI-I paragraph)
- Is there a simple way to convert this to a signal that the Jetronic Kit would accept on the DH input?
Idle control valve (idle air valve)
- The 1978 SAAB 99 engine I’m working with did not have an ICV.
- Is this a required component for the Jetronic kit to properly work?
EMUL line to the MAF
- The Mass Air Flow box has no electronic signals, it just mechanically controls the fuel distribution.
- Is the EMUL control line needed for a system that is a mechanical CI system?
