Flux3d Hi there, I purchased your trip computer at the same time as your Jetronic EFI kit. However my vehicle (a VW T3 van with the KV engine) only has a mechanical speedo, so there's no VSS speed signal for the computer. Can I add a Hall sensor or similar to the crank shaft and use this as an input for the trip computer, and if so is there any particular sensor you'd recommend, or key things to look out for when sourcing one so that it works with the unit? Thanks Mark
JHM Have a look at the camshaft sensors. They are usually of the Hall type with 5v supply voltage, and are well suited to the task. Also, there are speed sensors mounted on the speedometer cable. Either variant will do the job
Flux3d I've found this little unit that plugs into the back of the speedo where a factory sensor for cruise control would go. Seems like the perfect solution. https://rjes.com/vehicle-speed-sensors/ I just need to know how many pulses per turn of the of the speedo cable are needed, or pulses per km/mile, or can this be adjusted in the software? Mark
Flux3d Fantastic, thank you. Out of interest, can the units be changed for mph and mpg for us UK owners (and US owners I suppose)? Mark
JHM Flux3d Not yet, but the community of US and UK owners is growing fast, so we will schedule a software update for you.
